Co chairs: Jeanne Schmelzer and Sabrina Lopez

Purpose:
1. As a member of a community coalition of over 200 member organizations, help improve infant immunization rates against all childhood diseases including Polio in our community.
2. Encourage immunizations among children and teens.
3. Encourage Flu vaccinations among adults.

Goals: To help improve infant immunization rates against all childhood diseases including Polio by the age of three.

Latest News: We are continuing to educate students in our local high schools about the necessity for families to receive all the necessary vaccinations.

Activities/responsibilities: Beginning in 1995, and for several years, we supported a Saturday special infant immunization clinic in Barrio Logan. We conducted a telephone bank campaign reminding parents of the clinic and the children were treated to treats & goodies.

Why join: To encourage full immunization of all children before the age of three. We help every three months at the Barrio Logan clinic by phoning the parents of children that need immunizing several days ahead of time. If necessary we arrange for transportation to the clinic. We supply treats and toys for the children.
