Purpose: To support the Hoover High Cardinals Interact Club through our partnership with Price Philanthropies. The Club provides positive and supportive activities for Hoover students over a 3 1/2 year period.
Club Mission Statement: Our mission is for Hoover High School students to master leadership and academic excellence by developing teamwork skills through small group interactions, peer coaching, and positive community experiences. The program promotes self-esteem, decision-making skills, communication skills, and community involvement.
Rotary Goals: To support the students in their journey to become leaders and to make a difference at Hoover High, within City Heights and the entire San Diego community.
Committee activities and responsibilities: Participate in Club activities such as job shadows, business tours and various events and community service projects put on by the students. There are also several opportunities each year for Rotarians to speak with the students and share with them their career and educational paths. Rotarians interview the incoming class and play a significant role in selecting future Interacts. At the end of their 3 ½ years in the Club, the Interacts hold a special graduation ceremony and Rotarians are encouraged to attend.
