Chair – Michael Brunker
Purpose: Our mission is to support the Jackie Robinson Family YMCA and it’s work addressing the effects of community violence by helping strengthen families surviving violent loss with a particular focus on their children.
Activities/responsibilities: Provides support for families affected by the trauma of violence or loss with a focus on children in the household ranging from TAKE FIVE Tickets for Kids (sporting events, museums, entertainment, etc.) to an annual weekend experience filled with traditional, fun, camp activities combined with grief education and emotional support — facilitated by grief professionals and trained San Diego Rotary Club volunteers.
Why join: There are volunteer opportunities for Rotarians interested in bringing critical life coping skills, hope and healing to grieving children and teens served by the Jackie Robinson Family YMCA. Contact the Chair if interested.
