Purpose: To foster and promote international understanding and peace through an intercultural exchange program of teenage students.
Goals: To provide opportunities and resources thereby enabling Rotary Interact students (through two week “Summer Camp” exchange programs) and other high school age students (through both short and long term exchange programs) to engage with people from other countries and experience new cultures.
Activities/responsibilities:
INTERFACE with Rotary Interact programs (Hoover, Lincoln High Schools, and others)
PREPARE and TAKE PART in annual interview process with “Summer Camp” applicants
COLLABORATE with District Youth Exchange Officers
ENGAGE with Rotary Youth Protection programs
COORDINATE camp arrangements with European based Rotary Clubs
PARTICIPATE in locally based “Summer Camp” activities with international students
HOST international students involved with the annual “International Music Camp” program
PROMOTE and SEEK OUT “Long Term” host families, and related opportunities from within our Club membership
ASSIST with coordinating international travel plans, and related travel arrangements for “Summer Camp” students
PARTNER with Price Philanthropies (Cardinals Interact staff), and others, in promoting Youth Exchange experiences and opportunities
