AEDs-Helping to Make San Diego a Heart Safe Community

February 12, 2015 at 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm

In honor of February being National Heart Month, the Rotary Program for February 12, 2015 is AEDs – Helping to Make San Diego a Heart Safe Community.

Maureen O’Conner, Public Access Defibrillation Program Manger for San Diego Project Heartbeat (SDPHB) will explain how sudden cardiac arrest is the leading cause of death in the United States – more than breast, lung and prostate cancer, traffic accidents, fire deaths and AIDS combined. Maureen will also provide a live on-stage demonstration showing how an AED works and how you can use one to save a life.  Joining Maureen will be Rob Hoadley who will share his personal story of being saved by an AED.  This is one Rotary program not to be missed – what you learn could make the difference for someone – and you.

You are invited to stay after the program for a free, 30 minute training/review on how to do CPR and use an AED.  Please let the office know if you would like to participate.
