Party Lines
Steve Breen’s “Party Lines: The History, Art, and Politics of Editorial Cartoons” examines political cartoons, an art form that brings awareness to political and social issues. “Party Lines” shares over five decades of cartoons created during presidential election years, from past races to 2016, through multiple perspectives. Steve will share his impressions of this year’s Presidential race and politics in general.
Steve got his start in newspapers at the Asbury Park Press in 1994. He has been the editorial cartoonist for the Union-Tribune since 2001. His work is nationally syndicated by Creators News Service and regularly appears in papers throughout the country. Steve is a two-time winner of the Pulitzer Prize for editorial cartooning (1998, 2009). He also writes and illustrates picture books for children.
