Cindy Marten-American Heart Association

Cindy Marten is serving as Chair of the 2020 American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Movement and is passionate about improving health outcomes through research and education.  She is a fierce advocate not only for her own heart health, but for her students, staff, and the San Diego community.

Cindy will share how her journey with Heart started 20 years ago when her husband suffered a heart attack at age 42.  This event challenged her to understand why a seemingly healthy young man would suffer such a catastrophic event, and set her on a course to impact the future of heart health for her family and community.  She has used her experiences to become a heart health role model who inspires more than 100,000 students and nearly 13,000 staff members to live healthy lifestyles through her partnership with the American Heart Association.
