Geoffrey Wahl, PhD: Tackling Cancer’s Complexities with “Basic” Research

Cancers are diseases that have been called “the wounds that do not heal” and “diseases of development gone awry.” My forty+ year career at the Salk Institute has been spent trying to understand these facets of cancer to develop better detection, diagnostic, and treatment approaches. I will briefly describe, without slides, our most recent findings that these apparently disparate ideas together.
