Rotarians At Work Day 2024 Saturday, April 27

Rotarians At Work Day happens the last Saturday in April, having started in 2006 as a joint effort between two Rotary Districts (one in the United States and one in Mexico). Rotarians at Work Day continues to grow each year as Clubs around the world identify hands-on projects that all members can participate in to help their local community. Friends and family are welcome.

Don’t forget to take some pictures and email them in to the Rotary office. Thank you for your participation on this day of service!

Description: Grave restoration and ground beautification. Bring a hat and work gloves.

Event Now Closed! Project: San Diego Humane Society Walk and Wag
Address: 5180 Tecolote Canyon Road
Time: 8:45 am – 10:15 am We start walking around 9:00 am. Best to arrive early to find parking! Parking available at the Nature Center
Description: There will be 2-3 adoptable dogs for the group to take turns walking during the hike.

IMPORTANT INFO:

• Please leave your own dogs/animals at home so the adoptable dogs feel comfortable
• Wear appropriate walking shoes for a 1-2 mile hike
• Must fill out this “one time event volunteer form” AS WELL AS REGISTER FOR THIS EVENT! (When filling out the form, our group name is Rotary Club 33-Rotarians at Work Day)

Description: Create enrichment and exhibit enhancements for Zoo animals. Children are welcome but must be at least 10 years old. All volunteers must sign a waiver.

Event Now Closed Project: Jackie Robinson YMCA
Address: 3822 Beta Street San Diego, CA 92113
Time: 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Description: You are invited to join ongoing cleanup efforts in the flood affected neighborhoods of Southeast San Diego. You will tear down drywall in an apartment complex that was severely damaged by the flood. You will then clean up the area where the drywall was removed. Heavy lifting/dusty work involved. The YMCA will provide PPE, but bring leather work gloves, long sleeved shirts, pants and shoes similar to work boots if you have them.

Description: Scrubbing-waxing the bronze statues, mulch-raking the parking lot median, painting red curbs in parking lot, hose down picnic tables, wash windows of front entrance.
